VIN: ANTIYAL KUYEN 2014 |
MARINA ASHTON, LA COMPAGNE D’ ÁLVARO ESPINOZA
The 2014 Kuyen is a red blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere and Petit Verdot from their organic and biodynamic vineyard in El Escorial in Maipo. It matured in French barriques (20% of them new) for one year. Kuyen means moon in the Mapuche language. All the varieties are very integrated with each other. It’s quite classical, nicely balanced and approachable. I also tasted the 2010 for comparison and to check evolution; the wine is moving at a slow pace, and I’d say it’s in a perfect moment for drinking. 14,000 bottles were produced. It was bottled in December 2015.Robert Parker. The Wine Advocate. 90/100.
