RICCITELLI MATIAS – BONARDA – RICCITELLI BONARDA THE APPLE. 2015
WINE : RICCITELLI BONARDA THE APPLE 2015 |
The 2015 The Apple Doesn’t Fall From The Tree Bonarda was sourced from old vines in the Vistalba zone. It fermented with 20% full clusters in cement vats with neutral yeasts and matured in used French barriques for one year. The nose of the Bonarda jumped out of the glass with unusual minty notes, very balsamic, with hints of eucalyptus, cola, nut and spices. This is the first time I tasted this wine, but he tells me that from the first vintage, 2012, the wine has always had this profile, which he thinks is because of the high altitude. It’s quite aromatic and showy, quite lush and juicy. He found this vineyard looking for Malbec in Vistalba. This is completely different. 10,000 bottles produced.
